Disclaimer
Please read this carefully. By using Furemedy you accept the terms set out below.
Educational information only
Furemedy publishes general educational information about natural, herbal, and homeopathic remedies traditionally used for dogs and cats. It is a publication, not a veterinary practice. Nothing on this site is a diagnosis, a treatment plan, a prescription, or professional veterinary advice, and nothing here should be relied upon as such.
No veterinary relationship
Reading this site, or contacting us, does not create a veterinarian-client-patient relationship. We have not examined your animal, do not know its history, and cannot assess it. Only a veterinarian licensed in your jurisdiction who has physically examined your animal can diagnose a condition or recommend treatment for it.
Not evaluated by the FDA
The homeopathic, herbal, and supplement products referred to on this site have not been evaluated or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, or by any equivalent regulator in other countries. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease in animals or in people. Statements about traditional use describe how a remedy has historically been used; they are not claims of proven efficacy. Homeopathy in particular is not supported by conventional scientific evidence.
Emergencies
Do not use this website in an emergency. If your animal is struggling to breathe, collapsed, bleeding heavily, having seizures, unable to urinate, bloated and retching, in obvious severe pain, has suffered trauma, or may have ingested something toxic, stop reading and contact your veterinarian or your nearest emergency animal hospital immediately. Delay in obtaining veterinary care can be fatal.
Species, dose, and interactions
“Natural” does not mean harmless. Correct dosing depends on species, breed, age, and body weight. Products formulated for humans or for dogs may be dangerous to cats, whose metabolism differs substantially, and essential oils, xylitol, garlic, and various plants are toxic to companion animals. Herbs and supplements can interact with prescription medication and can be inappropriate for pregnant, nursing, very young, very old, or chronically ill animals, or animals due for surgery. Always read the manufacturer's label, confirm the product is intended for your species, and consult your veterinarian before combining anything with prescribed treatment.
No guarantee of results or accuracy
We make no representation or warranty that any remedy mentioned will be safe, effective, or suitable for your animal. We try to keep content accurate and current but make no warranty as to completeness, accuracy, or fitness for any purpose, and content may become out of date. Any action you take on the basis of this site is taken entirely at your own risk.
Third-party products and retailers
We do not manufacture, stock, test, sell, or ship any product. Links to retailers such as Chewy, Amazon, and iHerb are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for the quality, safety, labelling, legality, or delivery of any third-party product, nor for the content or privacy practices of any third-party website. Inclusion of a product is not an endorsement or a guarantee of its safety.
Assumption of risk and limitation of liability
You use this site voluntarily and assume all risk arising from your use of it. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Furemedy and its operators, contributors, and affiliates disclaim all liability for any loss, injury, illness, death, or damage of any kind — direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or otherwise — arising out of or connected with your use of, or reliance on, anything published on this site, including any decision to use or not to use a remedy or to delay seeking veterinary care.
Not for humans
Content on this site concerns companion animals only and must not be used to treat people.
